Jason and Kelli Kolich are husband and wife owners that know people crave a different type of pizza – fresh, handmade Neapolitan pie. Pizza Napoletana has been inspiring people for more than a century. Legend has it that in 1889, pizza was created in Naples, Italy, for Queen Margherita of Savoy. True Neapolitan pizza has a distinct flavor, simple ingredients and is baked in a wood-fired oven. 1889 Pizza is bringing pizza back to its roots by using wood-fired ovens, San Marzano tomatoes for the sauce and “00” Caputo flour for the dough. Our pizzas are baked in copper-clad ovens at a temperature in excess of 1,000 degrees, making the crust deliciously soft and chewy with a little char on the outside.
